FreeAgent collects customer data through workflows, integrations, manual record changes, and updates. Once you have your customer data imported into FreeAgent, you can start working with it and start making changes.
Let’s get started!
To update the information in any record, navigate to the top right and click ‘Edit’.
We can now adjust the ‘Stages’, set the Records ‘Owner’, change ‘Contact Information', or adjust any other details.
Some of these fields are greyed out and not editable. This means these fields are restricted by Admin Settings, and Form Rules, or are calculated by FreeAgent automatically. Examples are fields like ‘Number of Interactions’, and ’ Creation Date’.
To learn more about field types and access, check out the Guide: Creating and Customizing Fields.
Once saved, the Record will update immediately and the changes will be shown across FreeAgent, accessible in Related Lists, and can be visualized in Charts, Dashlet, and Dashboards.
Any event in the Timeline can be updated as well. Navigate to the event and select ‘Navigate to Record’ while hovering over the 3-dot icon in the top right corner of the event.
This will take you to the source record where you can add to, and update the record with the changes reflected back to the original record Timeline.
Only users who have a role that allows them to edit activities will be able to make changes to the Timeline events.
To learn more about the Timeline and related Activities, check out the Guide: Timeline and User Setup.
FreeAgent keeps detailed change logs for events that occur within the Apps and associated Activities. These logs can be reviewed to keep track of which user made a change or updated a record, and when that update occurred.
These change logs can be accessed from the Apps Page, or from the expanded Navigation Menu along the left. The change logs are broken down into the categories shown - Event Logs, Tasks, Emails, Meetings, Phone Calls, SMS, Notes, and Attachments.
If we drill down into the ‘Event Logs’ App, we can view any changes we made to a previous record; Type of Activity, a Message (if applicable to the change), its Source App, Source Record, the Date and Time that the event occurred, and which User made the change.
To learn more about Change Logs and Activities, check out the Guides: Audit Logs and Activities.
