Keep track of all the changes made into a single record on any of your Apps. With Audit logs not only are you going to be able to know when a record was updated, but also who made the changes and what fields were impacted by the update.
User Permissions: This feature is available for everyone.
In this tutorial, we will cover the following topics:
Navigate to Audit Logs
Navigate to any of your applications and enter the detail page by clicking on the record name or ID. Then, click the 'More Actions' button (3 dots icon) to display the available options and then click 'Audit Logs'
Audit Logs
Audit Logs are displayed in the form of a table and will include the following information.
FIELD | DESCRIPTION |
Changed Date | Displays the date of time when the update to the field was registered. |
Changed By | Shows the user that performed the update. |
Changed By Job | In the case where a Job was run, this shows the specific job that made changes to the record. |
Job Detail | Gives details on the Job that was run. |
Changed Field | As the name implies, this column shows the updated field. |
Old Value | The previous value of the field. |
New Value | It shows the current value of the field, meaning the update made to it. |
Note: If the record was just created and has never been updated, then the audit log window will be empty.
Audit logs are a quick, convenient way for your team members to track the progress and history of a specific record.
A Few Notes Regarding Audit Logs
What are Audit logs for?
Audit logs are for applications where transactions take place. Apps like Contacts, Accounts, Deals and others. These do not apply to Activity apps that track specific actions like emails, meetings, and tasks.
What happens to Audit Logs when a Record is deleted?
When a record is deleted all logs related to said record are deleted as well. This will remain the case even if the deleted record is undeleted later.
How many Audit logs will FreeAgent record?
FreeAgent will automatically retain the most recent 100 updates to a record. If you need to retain more than 100 updates please contact sales or support.
