What are Sites?
Sites are a way for you to create a custom menu layout in FreeAgent. These customer menus can then be assigned to individual users. They will override the default menus in FreeAgent.
Note: Sites is a feature that is still in active development. More tools will be added in the near future.
User Permissions: Only Administrators and App Admins can customize and create Sites
In this tutorial, we will cover the following topics:
Navigate to Sites
Go to Settings > Company > Sites.
Create New Site
First, click on the 'Add Site' button in the top right corner of the screen.
Then give your new Site a name. We also recommend choosing an icon to help organize your Sites.
When you're finished click on 'Save'. You'll see a notification letting you know that your Site was created successfully.
You'll then be taken to your Site canvas where you can start to customize your menus. Click on '+ Add Header'.
1. Add Header
Here you can add your own logo to replace the default for FreeAgent. Once you've added your logo click on the 'Save' button.
2. Add Navbar
Here you can add menu items to the left side of your screen. These can link to pages within FreeAgent or even other websites and tools.
There are two sections.
- Links
- Navbar
Links
Click on the 'Add' button to create a menu item.
Choose an icon, text, and link for the menu item. You can even choose the background and text colors. You can add multiple menu items.
Once you've finished adding your Links click on the 'Add' button
Navbar
With the Navbar, you can customize the colors for the entire left-hand menu in FreeAgent.
Apply your Site to your User Settings
As an Admin you can create multiple Sites and set them as the default navigation for your Users. Go to Settings > Company > Users. Open the options menu for the selected User and click on 'Edit'.
Choose the Site you would like to apply and save your changes.
Note: You may need to refresh your browser tab to see the changes.
Manage Your Sites
Sites are only available to Admins on your team. If you delete any of the Pages they will be removed for everyone on your team.
Deactivate
you can deactivate any Site by hovering your cursor over the options menu next to the name of the Site and clicking on 'Deactivate'.
You can view and reactivate Sites by clicking on the 'Show Deactivated' checkbox in the top right corner of the screen.
Filter and Search
Thanks to the search functionality you will be able to find the Site you are looking for by just typing its name in the search box. You can also use the advanced search to narrow down your Sites to display only those you need. To learn more about the advanced search, please visit the 'Advanced Search' section of the following tutorial:
You can also filter your Sites. You can do this by clicking on 'Filter' in the top right of the screen. From here you filter your views based on who created the Site, the team's access, or even who updated the Site. You can also sort and group Sites just as you can within any of your applications within FreeAgent.
